چکیده
The effects of age, type of return, presence of pulmonary venous obstruction, obstruction to left heart filling, systemic arterial oxygen saturation (Ao 02%), pulmonaryto-systemic flow ratio (Q,/Qp), pulmonary-to-systemic resistance ratio (Rp/R8%), and mean pulmonary artery-to-mean systemic arterial pressure ratio (MPAP/MSAP%) in 35 cases of total anomalous pulmonary venous return seen in the last 5 years, were studied in relation to prognosis and management. The surgical mortality was increased in patients with anomalous venous return to the right common cardinal system (right superior vena cava and azygos vein) regardless of age and was significantly lower in patients over 6 months of age and in those who had preoperative intensive medical management. No relation was found between surgical mortality and Ao 02%, Rp/RS, MPAP/MSAP%, or the presence of pulmonary venous obstruction. The small size of the left atrium rather than the small size of the left ventricle is felt to be one of the reasons for operative failure. The importance of obstruction to left heart filling at the atrial level

متن کاملMidterm results after surgical correction of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection
Abstract Objective: To evaluate the surgical treatment of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) and determination of predictors for postoperative death. Methods: Between 1995 and 2005, 80 patients aged from 1 month to 12 years underwent surgical repair for supracardiac (39), cardiac (34), infracardiac (3) or mixed (4) type of TAPVC. Systemic pulmonary hypertension (PH) in ...
متن کاملCentral Venous Line Insertion Revealing Partial Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return: Diagnosis and Management
Central venous line malposition is a well-known complication of line insertion. Rarely, it can be mal-positioned in an anomalous pulmonary vein. We present an unusual case of a 56-year-old woman that was found to have partial anomalous pulmonary venous return on central venous line insertion. In this report, we describe a systematic approach to diagnosis and management of this unusual situation.
متن کاملPartial anomalous pulmonary venous return showing anomalous venous return to the azygos vein.
Partial anomalous pulmonary venous return (PAPVR) is a congenital heart disease with a reported incidence of autopsied case. The location of the anomalous pulmonary venous return is usually the right atrium, superior vena cava (SVC), and sometimes the brachiocephalic vein, inferior vena cava (IVC) or coronary venous sinus. Recently we experienced a rare case of PAPVR showing anomalous right tot...

50%. Isolate Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return had never been screened before 2009. Only a few cases are screened recently. The detection rate of congenital heart defects has been increasing after 2000. Our educational activity may be related with this rapid increasing of detection rate. We need farther efforts for education to increase the detection rate of transposion of the great arter...
